In
Quake III, 12.60 & 14.60 have to share the crown for
speed. For a mix of speed in both OpenGL & D3D, the
12.90 drivers should be used, only 0.8fps slower than the
fastest OpenGL driver & conclusively the fastest in D3D.
Detonator XP drivers were unremarkable, despite the hype.
Possibly they would be more suited to GeForce 3/Windows XP
systems.
