Ok, I think this helped me once before! I can’t remember how long ago, but it worked once, I got the messenger onto my Win2k3 machine. But it appears the MSI is not supported on windows 2003. Messege says requires new windows version.

Need the .exe version. Can you suggest messenger’s with lower version that work for win2k3?

ive read every single comment on this page and ive done every soloution on this page. ive downloaded everything.finally, i got it. what ozzrat said was right. download the link, download winrar, extract the file, extract the folder, then install the windows live messenger.
wow. im finally on! didnt think id be possible

I am running XP x64 edition, and version 8.1 used to ask me to update to a newer version, but today when I tried it, it didn’t ask me, and Messenger loaded just fine. Maybe MS realized that forcing users to upgrade to a version that doesn’t run on their system is a bad idea.

It is quick and easy!

1) Run the command line to uninstall MSN 4.7 in every Windows.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

2) Restart will be ask

3) Now install live Messenger !

4) It work for me it will 4 you !

THANK.YOU. Like everyone else, I got the popup just this morning saying a newer version was available, but it wouldn’t install. I ran your patch and everything is working now!
