In Regards to Vitaliy's question about Comodo:

Comodo Firewall and Antivirus are compatible with Windows 7. I currently have both installed on my home PC. The firewall works great and blocks suspicious sites for me. The antivirus is excellent and has found malware that other programs did not pick up. I have also used both Avira Antivirus and Avast simultaneously to figure out which one was better. What I found was that Avira had higher detection rates and picked up on certain spyware that Avast did not. Of course both software found me false positives, but Avira made fewer errors in claiming healthy files were infected.

At this point (or by the time Windows 7 is released to the public) you can definitely expect a majority of anti-viruses to be fully compatible with the new operating system.

For sure, if your antivirus provider is not ready by then, you are better off looking somewhere else for real protection against threats.

Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/)
a program that fights Malware also works with Windows 7 and is a good replacement for Windows Defender.

Bulldog, which IS listed on the Microsoft site as being compatable.. is NOT.
Internet Explorer locked up constantly, that I could only surf in safe mode. Outlook constantly crashed due to its email features, and often after a reboot windows would lock up or Bulldog services were not available. I uninstalled and all is well.

I have a subscription at bit defender (gamer mode) but am afraid to try it after the comments above. Can anyone else suggest a program that works that has a gaming mode?
Thanks!

Thanks, I guess that Comodo Internet is going to work on Windows 7, but I've already installed AVG Free and it works! Most likely I'll not switch to COMODO.

BitDefender Total Security 2010 Beta works like a champ. They are targeting Windows 7 with this release with no major changes to the user interface over 2009.

@Vitaliy: I'm sorry, but we haven't run any tests since February and have no plans to do so. The above tests were conducted using Windows 7 Beta (build 7000) following its public release. Since then, there have been quite literally countless additional beta versions, an official Release Candidate launch and there is talk of a possible RTM by the 13th of July. In other words, we were only testing the anti-viruses on Windows 7 Beta, which is now essentially defunct.

That said, given the rapid progression of Windows 7, I'd be shocked if any of the major developers haven't gotten their ducks in a row by now. I would be willing to wager that the Comodo software you're interested in is compatible. If you attempt to install it and are met with a problem (BSOD or whatever), I'll do my best to help you: matt(at)techspot(dot)com.
