Ecuador close to 2006 World Cup

I guess it’s time for me to post something completely unrelated to TS… Last saturday, Ecuador’s soccer team beat Argentina 2-0, which puts us really close to the World Cup clasification for the second time in our history (first time was in Korea-Japan 2002). As you can imagine, soccer is huge in South America and for Ecuador this could become a really big achievement that goes beyond plain sports, but a really good excuse to bring people together in a country where poverty and political corruption have taken away much of people’s hope. Then of course it’s a second good excuse for drinking and partying in the streets, too. BTW, I live in Ecuador, just in case you were wondering ;).

If we win tomorrow we’ll practically make it to the next world cup… I think we need to make 4 more points out of 12 in the next 4 games, there are some really good chances.
I guess no one else will coment on this… ;)
btw, I don´t think there is a link to TechSpot’s Weblog on the frontpage, ¿is there?
I think with 3 more points it will suffice, especially after Uruguay tied with Peru.
I haven’t put up a direct link yet, but that is in the making, actually I’m currently playing with some DHTML code for a drop down menu where I will place most of the new sections/resources for easy access.
