have a Dell D420 and from what I have read you cannot clear the bios password by shorting certain pins or removing the cmos battery so if you can help me I would be extremely grateful!

i'm having issues getting into my dell latitude c610 # 8WX7G11-595B. i'm locked out and it's asking for a primary or administrative password. is there anyway to by pass that without dissecting my laptop?

I recently purchased a secondhand D610 Laptop via auction and it has an admin BIOS password on it which has disabled all wireless. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me with this situation as I hear you are the guru.

I Beleive you are the only man who can help ! I recently purchased 4 Laptops from Ebay as spares 2 were Completly Knackerd (Spares only) and the other 2 Dell Latitude D610's 1 had abroken screen and no HD ,I have manged to make 1 hopefully decent Laptop from the both but when I turn the machine on I cant enter setup to install a New version of XP and then a white window appears asking for an Authentisication System Password I have spent the last 5 days looking on the net for a solution and the only posotive help are links to yourself
any help is Gratefully Appreciated

A friend bought a DELL Inspiron 1525 from someone for about $450, looks nice, even has a camera, and it also has the BIOS password screen. Have no idea who the original owner is. He brought it to me to fix it, but after searching and reading a lot of posts I tried some of the methods. There is no 24c02 chip, in fact I think it's a 25x16V chip with no reset option that I could see on its specs sheet, it's a 595B so the generator doesn't work. I read a post that paragon33 said something about removing the CMOS battery worked for some older models and some new, tried that but I'm now wondering if I need to put it back or leave it off. I don't know if that will work either, seems too simple. Also told him if he bought a new motherboard it might work, he didnt like that idea as it was $260. Anyways if you can help me please PM me. Just for information, i've tried to find the 240c16 (i hope it's correct) on the motherboard but i couldn't, so i think that the shorting method won't be possible.

I noticed that you have helped some people with their locked-up Dell passwords. I am struggling with the same problem: I bought an used laptop a year ago from a now bankrupt company and they gave me only the user password. I thought at the time that no other password was required as this was enough to boot the computer.

However, now the hard drive failed and I bought a new one, but I am unable to install any OS as the computer is locked to boot only from internal hard drive. Dell won't help me as the laptop is still registered to the company I bought it from and the company won't help me as they went bankrupt.

i don't know if u could help me. i'm new in here and need some help.
i bought last week a notebook on ebay, a dell latitude d830. but stupid as i am i forgot to ask the password and stuff. now i can't boot the system, i get a grey screen sayin' that i can't access the data without the correct password.

It's the pretty little pink AMD x2. My daughter is in love with it but it gets the system authentication .. enter password . .. gray screen of death! I have searched for the last month or so trying to find a way to fix this without bothering you (as I noticed you have been helping with this for well over a year), but there is no other reputable way I can find. i work at a computer store repairing computers a dell d800 came in and the owner said he cant get into the hard drive, i found and saw he needs a password and i called dell but they said they cant supply me with a new code so i told the man to call them and he said he did but he got it from his daughter from over seas, so is there any way that i can get the password ?
