120 gb seagate doesn't detect by my computer

  1. my new 120 gb seagate doesn't detect by my computer

    I use it as a slave but whenever i plug it...

    my cpu doesn't boot up

    but whenever i plug it out

    my cpu boots up..

    anyone can help me to deal this...

    Internal or external, sounds like it has a short possibly a bent pin. Probably can't be fixed unless you can see a defect.

    You did not mention what kind of drives.. IDE or SATA. I assume IDE since you are trying to slave a drive. Try setting jumpers to CS (Cable Select), plug in the master on the end and the slave in the middle. I've had cases where two drives will not work as master and slave no matter what.. This is rare but does happen.. Try plugging in the slave to the secondary IDE port. (if you have one)

    but still it cannot boot when I plug it even i unplug all cd drive and hard disk
