   Does anyone know why a 1GB DDR RAM module costs so much more than a 512MB module?
   
   Crucial.com sells 512MB PC2700 DDR for around $80 and 1GB for $500+.

   Its also due to the fact that most of the demand for such chips is currently only in the enterprise server arena, and not on the home desktop machine.
