2 cable modems or router?

  1. Im in military barracks. when i got here my roommate already has cable internet ad there is only one jack. we bothplay world of warcraft online and my wireless broadband isnt fast enough, so he doesnt mind i tap into his cable.

    can I run anoter cable modem for my computer from the splitter, would it be faster than using a router? and runnin both games on same connection would e ave any problems? only experiene i've had is with one computer and playstation online which sucks bandwith. I was told b someone that it shouldnt see much difference in connection.

    There's a good chance that another cable modem won't even work. Depends on how uptight your ISP is. A router is much more convenient and secure.
