2 different Printers same problem...

Good Morning,

My black ink was printing light, so I went through the following steps:
Change out the cartridge for a new one.
Reset properties for Best and darkest printing.
Cleaned the ink jets.
Re-installed the printer software.

Then I spoke to a tech and posted to a few forums:
Cleaned out the excessive ink in the maintanence center.
Wicked the (new) cartridge.

Still light printing. Then I swapped out the Lexmark All in One for the Dell and reinstalled the J740 inkjet that came with the PC. Well, I was freaked when the new printer did the same problem thing.

What could this be? Can USB cables go bad? Where do I go from here?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, S

Dell printers are re-badged Lexmark.
Both are total crap. They are only good as doorstoppers.
Buy a decent Canon printer, they are also very cheap to run because of low prices for their cartridges.

You can spend any time you like, problems like that can NOT be fixed on those crappy printers.
If you still have warranty, return them for a replacement (which will probably have the same problems!)
