i thinking of upgrading my 1meg broadband to 2meg but would i get any advange from upgrading.

Yes I think you would.

You`d get faster downloads for a start, plus better video streaming etc.

I`m on a 2Mb cable connection, and average about 245KBps on a download.

Check with your isp for the advertised download/upload speeds.

ok i done the test and it says - my download speed is 971 kbps and my upload speed is 248 kbps is that any good

Using the figures from that test, you are pretty close to the top performance of a 1MB line.
I just changed to a wireless 1MB connection from Clearwire and I get almost 2MB out of them:
Download = 1.91 Mbps, upload = 200 kbps

So, depending on your ISP, you may well see a good increase, going to 2MB
