250 gig SATA only reads as 127gig in windows, but reads full 250gig in BIOS what do i

    hello, i just bought a new machine and i'm having trouble with my HDD i have a SATA 250 gig and i'm running XP, when i look in my HDD properties it only shows i have a capacity of 127gigs. what can i do to fix this? please help me.
