3 1/2 Floppy (A:/) Won't Work

I have had this problem with my current PC for quite some time now. In my device manager it shows that my A:/ Drive (for the 3 1/2 floppy) isn't installed. I took the PC apart & everything is connected fine. I tried restarting in safe mode & uninstalling the A:/ Drive & then reinstalling it through Windows, but that didn't work either. Anyone have a clue on this one?

Buy a new one, same thing happened to me and the drive was toast.

A few possibilites spring to mind.

The floppy drive is dead, or the floppy cable needs replacing, the floppy controller on your mobo is dead.

If it`s a dead drive or a faulty cable, then it`s very cheap to remedy. If it turns out to be a dead floppy controller, there`s nothing you can do except change the mobo.
