Pretty old:

1.6ghz Intel
Geforce 4 MX400 64MB
512mb DDR400

1x 160GB Seagate IDE
1x LG 18x DVD+/-R
1x 52x CD Writer

A 300W is causing the computer to freeze, after changing to a 485W for testing, it runs perfect.

This is a friend's computer, and I have a spare 350W I can give him but I'm unsure if that'll do it for this machine.

The More the merry...

485WATTS Did the Job then it the right one for the pc...It is said never utilize all you power source inna' yuh PWR supply as it decrease the life cycle...

I'm sorry but I just couldn't understand what you said o.o

The 485W belongs to one of my functioning computers, so I won't be giving that one to him. But he prefers not buying a new one for this old machine so if the 350W could work then it'd be best. =)
Opinions?
He was running a 80GB and a 6GB before. The 80GB has errors that cannot be fixed so he's planning to replace it with a 160GB and scap the 6GB.

Yeah he's not much of a... "I have money" person... so... I really appreciate of someone can confirm whether the 350W would work without conflict.

Most of his computer parts are pretty much my old stuff XD

And I believe I posted everything there is to know about his computer except for his motherboard which I can't seem to recall what it is.

1.6ghz Intel
Geforce 4 MX400 64MB
512mb DDR400
1x 80GB Maxtor IDE
1x LG 18x DVD+/-R
1x 52x CD Writer
300W PSU

What we want is:

1.6ghz Intel
Geforce 4 MX400 64MB
512mb DDR400
1x 160GB IDE Seagate
1x LG 18x DVD+/-R
1x 52x CD Writer
350W PSU

But again, I'm unsure whether the 350W will handle all that perfectly.
