5.1 with X-FI XTREME AUDIO NOTEBOOK

    I've been meaning to create somewhat of a HTPC partly by buying the card mentioned above. But I'm still not sure whether that will give me 5.1. I have a reciever (Yamaha 540) with only the optical input currently free. Can I with just the right cable (what sort of cable?) input 5.1 to the reciever no matter what codec the audio is in (for example ACC 6ch)?

    Thankful for any helpful answers, seeing as how this is not really my field at all!

    You will need to go optical to optical... There may be some kind of USB audio adapter available, but it might be expensive
