56k modem card-laptop-windows 98 s.e.

  1. help please! i have a ibm thinkpad 380d and when i insert the modem card i get an error message (windows is not able yo identifyor use the inserted pc card because there is no memoryarea available to communicate with the device. you must make a memory area available before tis device can be used

    ( check your computersconfig .sys file has a reference to a memory manager utility that is preventing windows from using portions of upper memory) it is a 3 com 56k modem and i am running windows 98 s.e. with 80 mbs of ram please help
