K, I cleaned with ATF Cleaner but I also unselected Firefox History, Saved Form Info, & Passwords because I use all of those a lot.

I ran TFC,ATF, & ESET. Attached to this post are the ESET scan results. ESET took quite a while. thanks again

OTL Clean-Up
Clean up with OTL:

* Double-click OTL.exe to start the program.
* Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot
* On the OTL main screen, press the CLEANUP button
* Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

If you still have any tools or logs leftover on your computer you can go ahead and delete those off of your computer now.

==================================================================

Your computer is clean

1. We need to reset system restore to prevent your computer from being accidentally reinfected by using some old restore point(s). We'll create fresh, clean restore point.

Turn off System Restore:

- Windows XP:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check "Turn off System Restore".
5. Click Apply.
6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
7. Click OK.
- Windows Vista and 7:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C:")
7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
8. Click OK

2. Restart computer.

3. Turn System Restore on.

4. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.

5. If any Trojan was listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately!

6. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

7. Run defrag at your convenience.

8. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

9. Please, let me know, how is your computer doing.

I only have one disk with no partitions so for step 6 in Windows 7, there is no box to uncheck. If I click on Configure then move the dot to Turn off system protection, that seems to most closely describe what you are talking about. Please advise before I proceed. thx

That's it.
I need to update my canned.

Thx for giving me your time Broni. I followed all your steps and it seems to run a tad more efficiently. Internet still lags when I am typing or loading webpages like I have some keystroke logger active but the lag isn't as bad now. My old Windows XP had the same problem, it got slower and slower the more programs you added to it. There was no avoiding it as it would update itself and got slower with each one.

Firefox 3.6.7 as of this post. I wish I could get this thing as fast as when I first put it together, with everything loading at the speed of thought.

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?

Tad better in safe mode but still keystroke and page loading lag. Not like it was when I first used the internet on this PC

What type of internet connection do you have?
Checked your speed here? http://www.speedtest.net/

I wonder, if maybe Kaspersky has something to do with it.
Restart computer in Safe Mode with Networking and test FF there in normal and safe mode.

That is why the lag should not be happening. I have "Blast" Internet with 2.5MB per second real dl speed. Will try in safe mode too, thx.

2.5Mbps is not a lightning speed, but it should be enough for smooth browsing...

It browses close to the initial speed I saw but still lags here and there. That system clean up made a big difference. Can't do Windows in Safe Mode per the defragmentation program that is running now.

Safe mode got rid of almost all lag in the page load times and the pauses and stuttering in my keystrokes is gone in Windows Safe Mode with Networking as well. Not sure what my PC is reading to cause the slowdown in normal mode.

Obviously some startups, which doesn't start in safe mode is causing your issues.
Go to msconfig and disable all Kaspersky's entries.
Restart in normal mode and see how FF is doing.

That is risky because I get little popups from Kaspersky in the lower right corner stating it is blocking attacks against my computer. If I disable it, even to test Firefox for a few minutes, I could get attacked during that period.

About the same as it was after your cleaning steps. A slight touch of lag with keystrokes and page loading. Runs a lot better now though. thx

If you can live with it, fine.
If you can't...

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista), type in:
msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

Click on Startup tab.
Click Disable all
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
Click Disable all.

Click OK.
Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

Same problem?

OK, I canceled out everything that starts up when you reboot Windows. Still is some keystroke and slight page loading lag just like before. Had to shut down Kaspersky manually because it will start itself automatically no matter what you do as a safety precaution.
