6600 GT 256 vs. 6800 128

  1. Hello guys just need a little Information..

    Is a GeForce 6600 GT 256 better than a GeForce 6800 128 both AGP 8x..
    cause i have a Leadtek geforce 6800 128 mb and i want to make sure if a 6600 256 mb is better than my card and if it is so i can change it ....

    I thought cuz the higher memory clocks of the 6600gt gave a slight advantage over the regular 6800.

    u might as well keep ur 6800, but if u were buying and choseing between them i would go with 6600 gt cus its almost the same and its alot cheaper.

    hey

    well i bought my Leadtek 6800 for 220 CDN dollers i think thats pretty cheap :rolleyes: ......anyways so basically !! 6600 GT 256 is the same as the 6800 128..thanks cool

    ya the 6600gt is the highest midrange and the 6800 (vanilla) is the lowest high end. So it evens out that the 6600gt is just about the sa,e performance wise

    The 6800 cards have 12-16 pipes and 256bit memory where the 6600s are 8 pipe and 128 bit memory. The clock speed only matters if you're comparing the same series of cards.

    hey

    well there is a slight difference in the core and memory clocks of the 6600 256 and 6800 128...i think the 6800 is definatly more stronger
