6800 Ultra new drivers

I need to install new drivers for my 6800, but if i try to uninstall the old drivers in Device Manager it says "Failed to uninstall Device, The Device may be required to boot up the computer." so how am i supposed to uninstall the old ones?

Try uninstalling the drivers from add remove programmes in your control panel.

When you left click on display adapters '+' sign, and your vid card shows, you then right click on that entry and THEN left click properties and then left click drivers and THEN uninstall (the drivers, ie, NOT the vid card).


Then reboot - the card will be run off of the basic OS vga drivers until the NEW drivers are installed. Although you many times don't have to, reboot after the new install anyway.
