I just upgraded my memory from 768mb to 2048mb and my computer performance seems to be worse than it was. Any advice?

do all the modules match same brand, speed, latency, are they proply matched to the board's requirements? Some boards that handle 2 GB ram will only take 1 GB at PC3200 and anything above that will run at PC2700 or PC 2100. read the manual to find the ram requirements. You may have gotten a bad ram module but this is unlikely.
