i have a 680i evga,7900gs,big typoon cooler,2g 7200 900mhs @ 960mhz ocz,550w ultra xconnect,e6600@ 1200=2.7g,2x74g raptors,audigy 2 platinum,sunbeam full tower. what would be better 1 8800gts or 2-7900gs oced. need a response asap i wanna order one of them

Buying a high end DX10 card at the moment in my opinion is a waste of money. DX10 games arent even out yet. I say wait a year till it becomes mainstream and are more D10 cards out.

I recently bought one 7900gs and I am happy with it. I am planning to move up to a DX10 card when games and more cards based on DX10 come out.

well i am gonna buy 1 today i just didnt know wether to get another for sli or get a 8800gts i get almost 5700 on 3dmark06

well i have 1 7900gs ko by evga. i want to either add another of the same 150 bux or i use thier step up program and get a 8800gts 280 bux.

Go for the 7900GS. Spend the rest on something else like a gaming mouse or something.

How do you like your mx518? I've got one and it works great for me!

I'm with IBN, go with the 7900GS since you already have one. Save the rest for when you can actually use a DX10 card.

680i evga,7900gs Evga KO,big typoon cooler,2g 7200 900mhs @ 960mhz ocz,550w ultra xconnect,e6600@ 1200=2.7g,2x74g raptors, audigy 2 platinum, sunbeam full tower, 22" Westinghouse widescreen monitor, the mx518 logi and the logi G15. i love my whole setup makes bf2 great in our knife and pistol server. The mx518 is almost like having a joystick when flying to do barrel roles and ect... Im just wanting a lil more out of my comp is all. my aquamark scores the most i have accomplished so far is 144 fps on avg. i want up round 180-190

I have the Logi MX400 and its good too. You use the 518 in BF2 as a joystick for choppers and aircraft instead of the keyboard? I gotto to get that mouse then.

yes it is nice u can set it up where it is very touchy where u barely move ur mouse and thats the way u go. takes a lil to get use to hehehehehe

ya ibm sometime come by to our knife and pistol server in bf2 it is *ATG* knife pistol and shock only. and ur welcome to hop on our ventrillo server as well. I did order the 8800gts though. i have the widows ultimate on its way and i figured id might as well take advantage of the 3d and the directx10 anyways

Hmmm

I have a 8800GTX just ran 3Dmark06 and scored 10495

Downloading aquamark right now, will tell you what my average FPS is....

If you look at my signature you will see the other specs are on par with your machine except the OCing....

Will update this when I am done.

Update:

139.06 in Aquamark3 (the only one it will let me do without buying is 1024x768 4xAA)

This either means:

A) Aquamark does not highly support my 8800GTX or does not work well with the 8800 series drivers.

B) Aquamark is more dependent on CPU and Memory than actual graphics power and your OCing payed off due to the fact that it rocks my stuff which is running at stock speed.

I have a feeling it is a combination of both A and B but has more to do with A

well the 06 bench is better than mine. i get round 5600. i have the same version as u do the free one of aquamark3d. ill post my aquamark w/ the 8800gts when it arrives.

Cool

Good choice...Yeah like I said you see how impressive my 3Dmark06 score was. That aquamark score just dont make scense.

I predict you will be running high 8's low 9's in 3Dmark05 with your GTS.

LOL "Im just wanting a lil more out of my comp is all."

think you got a perdy nice system to begin with. the peeps who suggest the 7900 are right as they can play anthing out right now with great speeds. Do this for now, save the money for later.
