A couple questions about cpus

  1. can you upgrade them?
    If you had an intel could you replace it with another brand?
    do i need a professional to replace it?
    Sorry i don't know much about my computer but what i know is in my profile.

    you cant really upgrade CPU's but you can overclock them. You do need to be reasonably computer literate for this though and voids your warranty. There are only two brands of CPU's: Intel and AMD. You can use either but need to make sure you have a compatible motherboard. You can install the CPU yourself but once again need to be reasonably computer literate.

    I don't see why you could upgrade CPUs. If you have a motherboard that works with your current CPU but can also support a faster one, it's simply a matter of removing the old one & replacing it with the new one. In a few cases it's a bit more complicated as it could require a BIOS update (a small software that's built into the motherboard).

    It all comes down to your motherboard & the list of it's supported CPUs.
