A good fit for my motherboard

3 days till automatic update? Windows doesn't activate itself from the moment you input the code, it normally will take a few days, as it does that in the background. The 3 days is likely the next time it will try to activate itself.

When it tries to activate itself will I be granted the 30 day trial period? Someone mentioned that it lists as 3 days but is really 30. When it gets to 0 it resets to 3 again when you restart the computer.
On a side note, do HDD's usually ring? Like a seagate barracuda 1tb for instance.

Sounds to me it is 30 day trial but is also set to automatically activate. And upon failure to automatically activate, it is programmed to try again in 3 days. I'm not familiar with the auto feature of Windows Activation, as I never use this route. I always install Windows without entering the key, and then manually activate afterwards using on-line activation.

As much as I don't want to, I'm about to tr y using my old HDD the ringing is becoming insufferable. Maybe its more noticeable because of my OCD.....

If I grab my old HDD, will inserting the win 7 disk wipe everything and reformat it for new use?
