    Hey all,

recently i bought my new MoBo (an ASUS A8N-SLI SE) i installed WinXP and everything went fine...

But now when im installing SpeedFan, it wont let me change my fan speeds (yes the fans are all connected to the mobo). It just says that all fans are at 100%. And when i change the value, nothing happens.

When I disable Q-fan in the BIOS (a.ka Smartfan controlling) It says that they are at 0%, instead of 100%.

Have I configured Speedfan wrong or something? because it worked on my old PC, and it was an Acer pre-made pc.

Maybe the mobo is not fully compatible with speed fan.
Why do you need to control the fans speed, is the PC too loud??

Yes, it is making way too much noise. both the Chipset fan, and the CPU fan.

So i need some fan-controlling device to take them down to the appropriate speed :)

Problem solved now... I just had to change the settings to "Software Controlled" in the advanced options :D

Frostyrod, when you say: "Problem solved now... I just had to change the settings to "Software Controlled" in the advanced options.."
Where do you find these options? Is it in BIOS or in the Speedfan program?

    Thanks
