A program that tells you what hardware you got!

  1. I need to know a good program that tells me exactly what kind of hardware a computer has. Do you have any suggestions!?

    In linux, the lspci utility can usually tell you 99% of what you need to know.

    In Windows, I prefer AIDA32, a free diagnostics, benchmarking and identification utility.

    For windows Belarc Advisor gives a good concise view of the main points.

    Don't forget about plain old system information, which is part of windows.
