about sd cards?

    this is my first post on this site.

    anyway i have an SD impact card (1gig), i use it to put songs on, but when i try and take them off it says that the disk is write protected and that i cant, when i try to format it get the same messages....any help?

    Who makes this Secure Digital Card? Is there a "button" on the card that be used write protect the card?

    Welcome to TechSpot jprime777 :)

    there should be a small tab on the left side of the card. if the tab is in the "down" position then the card is write-protected. slide it to the "up" position to make the card writable again.

    turn off the write protection by moving the tab on the card. If it is software locked, right click on it in my computer and remove the protection there under properties.
