ok, im building a computer for my school's athletics department, so i decided to go all out for overclocking. they decided to let me switch some of things with the stuff im getting for them. i decided to go with the 2500 mobile, im curious though.

are all 2500 mobile processors unlocked?

I don't know about them being unlocked, but they make good overclockers as they only run at 1.45v instead of 1.65. Crank up the FSB to 200 (400) to run it as an athlon 3200+ and then see how much faster you can go from there.

Yes, the Barton Mobiles are unlocked.
