Access Denied.... mostly...

  1. Here is the background to what happened. I got a virus that killed my windows registry and I couldn't fix it. I have a PW on my Admin account(I know that PW). I have a spare HD, so I put windows XP sp2 on it and made my other HD a slave. I really wanted to take the pictures off my old HD and move them to the new one. When I tried to open the Admin folder, it said "Access Denied" Every other folder works. When I say every other folder, I mean the other user on the computer without the password. If I do a search for files, they come up, then I am able to double click into the admin folder, and I can see that the files exist. They will not display. When I try to copy them, it says "access denied."

I tried to give as much info as I could think of, any suggestions?

    Thanks.

edit: Here is a screen shot of what I'm talking about...

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You need to take ownership of the files. See HERE for more info.
