Acer laptop CD/DVDrw issue

All,

I am unable to use blank discs in my Acer 1690 laptop. Always get error d:\ is not accessible. incorrect function.

History - I had to reinstall windows on the laptop because of a booting error. Since then i have been unable to write to blank discs known to be be good. When i check the properties it says the disc is full but there are no files.

I have tried the same process on my Pc and they work fine.

I think it maybe a case of installing new drivers but i have A.) No idea where to find them B.) What drivers I need.

Any help would be greatfully received

You might want to look under the properties of the device in the device manager and get the name of the driver there or at least the model number so you can google it. You also might want to try checking for a firmware update and if worst comes try installing the os again.
