[Active] Google Searches being redirected

  1. When I click on a result from a Google search, it redirects me to one of several bogus sites.

    Running McAfee Security Center provided by DSL supplier (SBC global).

    Don't know how to determine what is good and what is bad.

    jtl, you have what appear to be malware entries in the log, but I cannot determine what they are without more information. We don't use HijackThis to 'screen' for malware.

    Please follow the steps in the Preliminary Virus and Malware Removal thread HERE.

    When you have finished, please paste the logs into your next reply for review.

    Please do not use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you, unless I direct you to. Do not use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.

    I will have you run HJT again later. I do not expect you to know what are good or bad entries- that's my job!
