My Windows XP-based laptop is connected to our IP phone system via an ethernet cable.

Is there a way to add a context menu item that would allow me to right-click a phone # in excel, click dial, and send the message to my Avaya digital phone to call the number?

    thanks,
    Mickey

Sure, you can use the Call Shell() function in a macro to run any external program. This is assuming that your telephone program lets you dial from command line.

If that doesn't work, you can use the Call() function to call any function from any DLL. So some help from your software maker or some reverse-engineering should let you make use of possible DLL files of your phone program.
