Add or Remove Programs doesn't populate

  1. My computer hasn't displayed any other problems up to now. Today I attempted to uninstall a program and when I launched Add or Remove Programs it would not populate.

    I've rebooted, scanned for virus and spyware, and insured all the latest updates are installed. finally I did a system restore back to April 1 when I know this problem did not exist.

    Any ideas where to look would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    From HERE

    "This is generally due to the DisplayIcon having a negative number. From here you can either remove the negative number or remove the last application listed: Start/Run/Regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{}

    I've come across the problem myself from time to time. I have used norton systemoworks 2003 to remove stubborn programs. Their add/remove programs is better than windows.
