Add/Remove Programs Error

I am running on XP Pro. When I try to go into Add/Remove programs a window pops up and tells me that Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem.
It gives other information:
AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180

What is going on and how do i fix it??

Since you didn't indicate you did anything before hand such as installing new drives, hardware, programs, etc, I can only offer this:

Copy anything you deem important

Turn OFF system restore

Reboot Retry to add/remove

If OK, turn on system restore.
