i tried loggin in in safe mode but it looks like the pro version set a password.i have home edition installed on another puter and the password wasnt setup... :dead:

thx

XP Pro doesn't have a default password. During setup it asks for a password, which means something was typed in when XP was first installed. Though some OEM PCs do put a password on there, such as 55555 or "dell" or whatever.
Also you can't edit the password in the Users control panel because you probably can't see it there!

To change the password, log in to your own user account (which has to be an administrator account). In Normal Mode is fine.
Then click Start-Run and type this exactly: "control userpasswords2". There IS a space between the words. Then once inside, click the 'Administrator' account and click the 'Reset Password' button and type a new password.

That's it!!
Good luck.

ill try that
