Administrators Login Passwords

Hi,

Please could someone help me,

I have a Dell Latitude C400 that I bought second hand,

When I try to do anything it asks for the Administrators password and I cannot even connect a CD drive or floppy to is as it says that i do not have the privilages to connect such things.

Please can you tell me if there is a way to reset this.

There are programs out there that let you reset the Administrator password, but the right thing to do would be to reinstall Windows. You don't know what was put in that laptop. It could even contain malicious software that steals your passwords and other sensitive information and sends it to its master.

thanks for the reply, I cannot re install windows as it will not let me attach a cdrom drive or a floppy.

Surely you can physically connect an USB CD-ROM drive? In BIOS setup, tell the laptop to boot from this USB device. Insert the Windows CD and start up the computer.
