Advice: Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop

    My buddy said he got the .dll black screen says press ok then just idles there. I have a dell XP SP2 installation CD but it came with a box that had a bnch of desktop PC's. Should I use this Cd to re-build his laptop?? This is why i hate DELL!!
