NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 with driver version 9.18.13.3182. But I'm pretty sure all or at least part of the problem is Firefox because I stopped using it and everything's ok.

Have you tried removing FireFox. With a third party software . Such as Revo. Then reinstalling it. To see if maybe this fixes the problem.

I found after disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox everything was fine. According to here hardware acceleration isn't compatible with some video card drivers so maybe after the update this caused it. What is hardware acceleration and how can having it enabled in one program cause the entire system to freeze and lag and screw up.

    Thanks
, Great fine on Fire Fox. Tried it to day and was able to update my video card. Which I have not been able to do in a long time.. Here is a link that might help you understand hardware acceleration.
