All-In-Wonder 9600 HELP!

  1. Ok people im in need of desprite help. I just bought an all-in-wonder 9600 AGP 8x 125mb and whenever i try to play games like world of warcraft or half-life 2 my monitor goes black and freezes. I have to restart my computer after that. I dont know if my AGP GART if the highest version or sumthing. someone please help. Thanks

    ahh, more often than not these OEM builds have subpar power supplies that balk when a power-hungry device is added. hp and others design thier systems to work only with that ships built-in to maximize thier profit. by opening the case you have voided your warranty. even if the psu manages it, there could be many other causes of this problem-all related to the way oem computers are designed.

    besides updating all the drivers, you can try running the machine with the side panel off, thus exploring the possibility that the card is simply overheating.
