Amazon said this is just a sampling of some of the deals that will be offered tomorrow. All deals are available to new and existing Prime customers, we’re told. Even newcomers that sign up for a free 30-day trial can get in on the action.

In addition to the deals, there’s also a photo contest with a $10,000 prize and the chance to win $2,000 by taking a quiz.

In related news, big-box retailer Walmart is planning to challenge Amazon with an online sales event of its own spanning the entire week. Using the opportunity to take a jab at Amazon, the world's largest retailer says the idea of charging $100 to get access to a sale just "doesn't add up" for them. Amazon fired back, pointing out that Walmart's decision to offer discounts online but not in its stores "doesn't add up" for them.

    Either way, it's a win-win for shoppers.

But what about my prime music and prime video and prime shipping and and and~

This sale is not necessarily to entice people to get amazon prime (though I imagine A LOT of trial memberships will be made), but to reward people that already have the membership...

Either way when online retailers fight for our affection and money, the customers usually win out and some cases make out like a bandit.

I turned my Amazon account into a Prime account.... will cancel in a week or so... after seeing the article on the "best gaming headset", will check their site tomorrow (today my time actually) to see if the G930 ends up on sale :)
