Just read in the PCStats newsletter that their sponser has announced AMD cpu prices drops....

I know some people on the forum have been itching for a reason to get an Athlon XP CPU. Well this should give them even more incentive (even though I am waiting to go to a clawhammer ;) ).
Although I'm not sure if the prices will drop further when the Thoroughbreds appear on the scene...

    Prices at PC Progress:
    ------------------------------------
    1900+ $130
    2000+ $159
    2100+ $192

    AMD.com price list:
    ------------------------------------
    1900+ $220
    2000+ $280
    2100+ $330

What would be really cool is if the TBred 1900+ would come out at that price. You would get cheap power & a cooler CPU while at it.:)

    What do you mean if?
Click on the link in the quote and order one.... ;)

This is great! Just after Intel has just announced the price drop, AMD does this. Yeahoo :D

Eh? Aren't the Thoroughbreds already available?

Well I read about this AMD price drop before the Intel one. But PC Progress seems to be the only place that has them at that sort of price...

UK sites site have XPs at premium prices.
The PC Progress prices are the only really low ones I have seen.
