AMD is throwing in a sweetener to the purchase of one of their high-end Radeon graphics cards from a participating retailer: a free copy of Firaxis Games' Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth.

If you buy an AMD Radeon R9 295X2, R9 290X or R9 290 from one of the many eligible retailers, you should be able to claim a free copy of Beyond Earth through AMD's webpage for the promotion. The game is one of many in AMD's Gaming Evolved program, which optimizes the title for AMD cards through technologies such as Mantle.

The copy of Beyond Earth is in addition to the existing Never Settle: Space Edition, which gives buyers of these high-end cards three games through the Gold rewards tier. There's over 25 titles to choose from including the recently released Alien: Isolation, and popular but older titles like Saints Row IV, Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs.

Basically, you buy one of the aforementioned cards, and you'll get four games for free. One of those games is Civilization: Beyond Earth, and the other three you get to choose from the Never Settle selection.

The company also announced that starting this month, prospective graphics card buyers will be able to pick up an 8 GB variant of their highest-end single-GPU card, the Radeon R9 290X. Normally this GPU is paired with 4 GB of memory, but with many enthusiast gamers wanting to play at 4K, the extra GDDR5 frame buffer will help store more textures for better performance at these resolutions.
