If you're a PC gamer with an AMD Radeon graphics card, you might be very interested in AMD's latest Rewards program. The Rewards program expands on what is offered already through AMD's Gaming Evolved app - which was announced in partnership with Raptr during last year's GPU14 Tech Day - giving gamers the ability to win loads of free stuff.

To start with, users of the Gaming Evolved app will be able to collect points through performing different actions, such as optimizing the image quality of a game for the first time, playing specific games that are supported by the app, and engaging with the community.

The points collected in the Gaming Evolved app can be redeemed on a range of items, including Sapphire-branded Radeon R9 series graphics cards, ASTRO gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, GUNNAR gaming eyewear, discounts, and over 100,000 games. AMD says the total value of items in their exclusive store exceeds $5 million, which is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Raptr CEO Dennis Fong calls the AMD Rewards program a "a natural extension of what Raptr Rewards does for gamers", saying that it's "really great to be able to reward players for all the time and effort they’ve invested in playing games."

To jump straight into earning points in the AMD Rewards program, head to the Gaming Evolved download page and install the application. For a quick walkthrough of how the program works, check out the video AMD has provided below.

Free stuff. Nice. ...Did he polish his dome? I've never seen a bald guy with that level of gloss before. He must massage his head every morning with a professional grade buffer.

Nice. I have an AMD card and Raptr installed, so I guess that's a natural move. Not that I'm playing much, and it probably will be too hard to get really good rewards, but worth a try.

What was failed to be mentioned in this article was the fact that the app used for the program is spyware. Also what was missed is there was a soft launch of the program back in December. Those that participated back in December have been lied to and defrauded. As many of us were about to have enough points to earn 60 dollar games, such as BF4, Thief and Titanfall, AMD/RAPTR removed those points to roughly 1/6 of what people had. It has even gone as far as being stated that AMD was not involved. What is really sad is how many people of the gamer community take the blatant lies and thank them stating such things as "its better than nothing". Even right now the points rewarded are ambiguous and not even clearly defined. The whole program is a scam and its said how much coverage they are getting and non of the journalist are looking deeper into the program before reporting them in a positive light.

Thats actually true and not true at the same time, the rewards program was still and is still a Beta with testing and changes coming. The Rewards cut/changes was due to users during the early beta phase abusing a BUG where gameplay was being counted when users were not playing games. Link to the story...

Easiest way to explain this was the games just being active was all that was required to make points which in turn people would turn their computer on and have a game running for days on end earning points for doing nothing. The bug was discovered during the beta and they made changes/adjustments to the points system which also changed the current earnings of users as well.

Its new, and a free add on that is being worked on constantly, things are going to change. If you try and abuse the system for free stuff, then of course things are going to change. Most of the people that had these significant changes to their points were the people abusing the system.

That was one of the links but since its not shown in the proper timeline here:
First one showing the soft launch and the original terms/conditions-
http://raptr.com/sorako18/news/52b374db1de88442fe/amd-gaming-evolved-app-release-notes-preview-the-loyalty-program-12-19-13

They then committed fraud/lied to us here-

and here:

Notice how the original launch is called a Soft Launch and clearly shows the offer made and what was needed to achieve the earnings and rewards.
They second two links they are trying to confuse people by now calling it a BETA, the raptr application was stated to be in a beta and still is in Beta, but the rewards program was not launched as a beta back in December again refer to the first link.
The second link even shows that they were aware of issues, and instead of stopping the program and making their adjustments they choose to allow the program to run longer having users spend up to 6 hours a day using their app with full intent of changing the terms to a huge advantage to themselves, fraud. This also happened 1 week before the store even opened denying us the chance to spend the points we earned in the original offer before they deducted us those points.
In many threads raptr employees tell the community that it was a beta and compare that to how MMO's run their beta's saying how they could of deleted all the points and we should be glad we kept some.
They also in that last link state that this was not AMD, yet the first link and everywhere on the web its listed as AMD's Program.
I don't know what's more upsetting that companies can treat their consumers this way, or that gamers take the lies and thank them replying "its better than nothing".

Yes if you started the timeline there then it would appear to be a BETA
Here is the official announcements in order that they were given-

Notice how the original launch is called a Soft Launch and clearly shows the offer made and what was needed to achieve the earnings and rewards. A soft launch is used to help fine tune, if need be, and lesson the impact for miscalculations. What was miscalculated was the fact that people may just leave the program running while they had games running. And if you noticed nowhere does it state in the FAQs or in the ToS that this wasn't acceptable. They were rewarded up to 6hrs a day of playing a game while having the app running. Maybe they should of defined what exactly had to be done during that play time, I personally was active during my time but others choose not to. Again not my fault that they were not clearer on this consideration. There was no bug, on the applications behalf, even now the application has no way of knowing if someone is active or not, the only way they knew this was the case was because of how much info was data mined during peoples play time after that information had been reviewed. Not a BUG of the program but an oversight of whoever drafted the offer. This is more in lines of opening up a restaurant chain of 100 stores across the country, instead of doing that from the get go, you decide to open up 10. During the few months you use that time to check things like costs, prices, wages and such. You then fine tune those factors, doesn't mean you have the right to retrocharge or retrochange for any miscalculations you may of done, it again just gives you the chance to take a lesser impact of your mistakes then if you had all 100 stores open. Another example we see commonly is a movie opening in select theatres, this isn't a beta to test if there are issues with the movie, this is to give an early feedback to determine how long you should keep a movie in theatres.

They second two links they are trying to confuse people by now calling it a BETA, the raptr application was stated to be in a beta and still is in Beta, but the rewards program was not launched as a beta back in December again refer to the first link. A beta is used for pure testing of bugs and faults of a program. As in the app is giving out to many/too few points would be bugs and faults, basically that the software is not running the way it was intended. Even with the Hard launch of the Reward program the other day, the app is still in Beta yet the announcements show the launch of the Rewards program, because they are two different entities that work in conjunction.

The program was in Beta and they were testing the program, you could not purchase anything anyways...It was all to test the system and to see how gamers reacted and what they did to get said items. People of course found a way to abuse the system thinking they could get tons of free items by leaving games running on their machines earning tons of points a day. They changed up the ratios and let you keep a portion of your points during the 2 month promotion period. If your really upset over losing point in a two month period becaus yall abused a system then thats your fault not AMD's or Raptr's.

The fact they let you keep points after a beta period is generous compared to just saying "it was beta you get no points".

If you want to be upset at someone, blame the people who exploited loop holes in a beta system.

I tend to agree, no since in getting angry, until after the app comes out of beta. The app is still beta for a reason, it is not finished and no telling how or where it is unfinished.

Soft Launch of AMD’s New Loyalty Program!
Play games, use the app and earn rewards using Reward Points!

You'll see a couple new tabs and a point counter in the latest version of the AMD Gaming Evolved app -- the counter reflects your currently accrued Reward Points total. You can then spend those points on Rewards in the upcoming Rewards Store launching Q1 2014!

From the original announcement. No where is beta stated it is clearly stated we would be able to earn then spend those earned points at a later date.

Beta wasn't mentioned until a month later when they started trying to cover up the scam.

The application and Rewards program are two separate entities. Proof, you can get points w/o even installing the app by participating on the forums. More proof-
http://www.bing.com/search?q=AMD's+...=-1&sk=&cvid=7f05344a4ebf48caa41d2efc91f0c63a

Again notice how many are reporting on the LAUNCH of the rewards program and not once mentioning its a beta. The AGE app however is still in beta because its a separate entity.
