wolfram Posts: 1,833 +9 May 15, 2007 #2 It's not as good as it was supposed to be. The Radeon HD 2900 XT is an inefficient power hog. Using the 2900 XT card will cost you more power than a GeForce 8800 GTX while delivering to you sub-8800 GTS performance. That is not a small difference in terms of performance per watt. Click to expand... I'd rather get a 640MB GTS. Runs much "cooler", and uses "less power" than the HD card...

twite Posts: 907 +2 May 15, 2007 #4 How did this happen. In all preliminary tests it owned the G80 series. Sounds like a marketing scam to me.

wolfram Posts: 1,833 +9 May 15, 2007 #5 I think that was the R600XTX card. It had 1GB of DDR4 RAM, but it appears that it ran excessively hot, and used an stupid amount of power. They will release that card, but using a newer 65nm core. The R650.
