    Hello:

I have a friend that wants to take his VHS analog home movies, (VHS tapes) and convert them to digital..copy them to a cd-r or cd-rw and be able to play his movies on his cd player and watch them on his television. What file format will his TV player recognize so he can play them on his TV?
How does he go about doing this?

    Thanks in advance:

He needs a TV-in capable device to record the VHS tapes on his PC. Or maybe some special devuce meant for reading video tapes.

In order to watch the CDs on his TV, he'd need a VCD capable player (DVD players can play VCDs) or a device in his computer with TV-out.
