Analogue to Digital

I am trying to use Cyberlink Power Director to convert my Sony camcorder analogue tales to digital. My machine is a Dell Inspiron 530, 2.19gig processor, 1 gig ram, 276 gig free space (using 1 tera gig external drive to copy to) , OS WinXP SP3, ie version 8.0, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS. The resut is very jerly video with 1000 'dropped frames' in less than a minute's video. I have updated the graphics card drivers. Any ideas?

Bump your system RAM to 2GB. Make sure you carefully follow the specs of the original RAM

That's kind of a slow processor.

And it only came with 1gig RAM? Dell says they put in 2.
