Analyst Michael Pachter says PC gamers are like arrogant racists

Of course PC gamers are more prideful, most of them have spent dozens of hours researching, customizing and fine tuning their machines. Console gamers just drop the cash on either A or B, plug in a few cables and press start, they are not nearly as invested.
 
Somebody is really trying awful hard for his 15 minutes of fame! Maybe he should try pulling a knife on a copy in the middle of Alabama wearing black face ..... yeah, that would do it!

Not all PC gamers are to be lumped in one pile, I think he of all individuals should know that one. Just it's anything to make headlines of course, what better place to be than in the spotlight right? I branch out and actually play other things, a lot of PC users I know do. He's just viewing the devoted "PC Master Race" kind of individuals as the whole community, which is clearly a laugh in itself because many often use it as a joke.

I don't use a phone personally for gaming, I have a dedicated handheld device and a secondary console to play on also. Just trying to poke the hornets nest at this point, but instead of with a stick it's a giant sledgehammer. It's all he wants is attention, because if nobody wrote articles based on his nonsense, I'm sure he'd be going more extreme. This is all he wants is attention right now, because it's easy to paint everyone with the same brush.

I've spent hours helping others, who just want to build a PC and so on. Simply for more enjoyment, see what the other side of the fence has so to speak. Hopped back and forth between console and PC all the time, I mostly stick on PC with some console gaming because.. what's cheaper in the long run? Consoles eventually have to be replaced, while PC hardware can often last way longer. Especially with small upgrades in between, your gaming market is also gigantic too so.. it's a "no brainer" to some people.

I picked up a Wii U because in the end, that's the only platform with actual fun exclusives. What's on the consoles, that don't often get multi-platform? Sure there's the exclusives, but sometimes a handful of things isn't enough to sway you. Especially with a PC performing more duties than a console, when it comes to just general workloads you might have.

Paint everyone with the same brush if you want, but not everyone is as one-sided as he seems to make it out to be. Just wants to be in the media spotlights more often, because it's like a drug for people these days. You can't get enough of it, and want to make more and more stupid claims just to get media talking about you.
 
Who is this ***** and why does he have a job as any kind of expert in this field? Pretty much every PC gamer I know has or has had various consoles. It's just that PC is the only option for playing ALL THE GAMES YOU'VE EVER HAD. You know, as well as superior version of most new games.

'Master Race' is racism, or at least facism. It's a term from the 1930s and 1940s strongly associated with Nazism and I've always thought it's use was in extremely bad taste.

Ya beat me to it! "pfff uggggggh this analyst is way off when he describes us as racist for using a racist phrase to describe our platform. Doesn't he realize that it can't be racist since we are merely propping up the technology we like. It's totally different... besides it's obvious that everything else is sub-PC."

That said the title of this piece could have been better. If you really want to use the word racist he should have described the environment in which gaming takes place rather than what platform is used. Even then it would have been full of hyperbole that's focused on one specific aspect of gamer's life. A good article would be "Everyone is Racist" then follow up with a description of how communication online is just the latest delivery system.

Crap, my train of thought veered off a bit. Whatever, not going to backspace or re-read.

Meme comes from the word memetic and represents a hypothetical description of an element of culture that members of a society share. Something being a "meme" can be as racist as anything else or not. The white text written with impact and a 2pt stroke certainly describes memes that get passed around but is not the defining factor.
 
Aside from this guy being an attention w**re, this is just the world we live in. Stating facts = racism, because everyone is being raised to be overly sensitive. People can't seem to differentiate things anymore... If I call you fat, and you are indeed fat, that makes me rude (depending on the context), but not a racist.... but watch the internet brand me as a racist for saying that. My PC is about 4 times more powerful than my PS4, my PC is wayyyy more superior than my PS4, and that is a fact. But people on the internet, especially fanboys, will get offended by that statement for some reason; even though it is completely factual.

If a built PC is indeed factually better than a console in terms of performance, what is so wrong about pointing that out? If the extra performance on PC will give me a better playing experience over a mult-plat on a console, what is so wrong about pointing that out?...
 
Lol I'm gonna go out on a limb here. michael.....sir....you look like a virgin AND someone who was bullied in school. how DARE you say I'm a racist because I choose to game on a pc after owning both a ps1 ps2 ps3 xbox original xbox 360 everything nintendo except both wiis and the ds. you just suck bro. I'd rather have my guaranteed 60 fps let alone 120+ if my pc is built properly. this guy is a turd. the only way I'd have a console in my home again would be to game with the kids because it's just a TAD easier to setup a console in the living room compared to a pc and that's it. honestly if I had a console in my home during my pc days it was for petty stuff like popping a movie in or watching netflix with the fam. this guy is a turd.
 
Ok I own a PS4, and xbox 360 and one and then I own a high end pc (980ti SLI) I am not really biased towards any, . I KNOW from first hand experience EVERY game I play on the PC vs it's console version is visually better on the pc. Each device imo has its genre of games that are better suited. I am a big quake player, this game would be mega fail on the console, not because of any console limitation but simply down to the old argument of the joypad vs the mouse, there really is no comparison, the mouse is just far superior for any on screen cursor movement. Other games though for example street fighter V, or lego batman, even GTAV just play so much better with a joypad and more suited imo to lounging on the sofa. Generally people have consoles in the living room and a gaming pc upstairs in office room or their bedroom.

I've always had PCs and played games on them, but . . . I had an X-Box and it died on me and wasn't fixable. I got a PS3 and it died on me, not fixable. Now I only game on PC, because I can fix any problem by replacing a component. I can also upgrade it as I want, to play what I want.
