Annoying Taskbar Icon

  1. I was recently attacked by some kind of pathetic spyware. It installed a bunch of applications that I was able to remove but it left one thing. An annoying taskbar icon appears on the taskbar (close to the clock) and often gives me this ridiculous message about some kind of software scam. I have tried everything I know of to try and stop this f***ing icon from appearing but have had no luck. The icon can't harm my system but it's just so f***ing annoying. Any ideas? This thing is driving me insane! The icon is launched when Windows starts but I cannot seem to prevent my system from running the process...just so annoying. Help with this would be greatly appreciated. There has to be a way to regulate what appears on the taskbar elsewhere...

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

    Regards Howard :)
