Solved Another Sirefef.R and Sirefef.AH case

Hmmmmm... It looks like the problem extends beyond just MSE. I'm also having trouble installing anything from Windows Update. Thankfully, that gives us more information regarding the problem. I get the following screen when attempting to install Windows Updates:

If that's the only issue and it concerns just one particular update there is nothing to worry about.
If some driver was not digitally signed by MS you'll receive this kind of warning.

Now if it's some non-MS driver do NOT install it.
In fact NEVER install any non-MS driver through Windows updates.
MS has a history of messing computer up by providing non-MS updates.
In general drivers should be left alone.
If you do need to update/reinstall some driver you always go to your computer manufacturer site.

Is there any chance these issues were caused by the software ran for the virus removal or do you think they are independent problems?


Also, I still haven't completed the rest of the steps in your post with the Mr.Clean image. Would you recommend doing that now, or wait until this issue is resolved?
 
Infection may corrupt Windows installation in some ways but I can't say if this is the case here or some unrelated problem.
Since your computer is clean I pointed you to Windows forum.

I'd definitely go for all final steps.

Microsoft no longer hosts the program for download, so I was wondering if you have anything in your inventory that might be able to run it.
