Anyone have SLI but cards are different brands?

  1. I have an Evga 7900GT CO but havent been able to find another one for SLI. So I got a Gigabyte 7900GT. It doesnt work. When SLI is enabled its BSOD galore. I was just wondering if I missed something because you're supposed to be able to use different brands with nVidia drivers 80.** and above. I know I can flash the BIOS of one of the cards but I dont want to void the warranty.

The clock speeds differ, the eVGA is overclocked, that might be the problem.

It also could be your PSU isnt strong enough.

Is it even possible to mix brands? I always thought the manufacturors made their cards with slightly different specs.

The KO's are overclocked. This is a CO. I also have a 500w SLI PSU. According to nVidias site you can use different brands with the latest drivers but it seems to be troublesome.
