Anything I'll lose when i reinstall XP?

Hey all,
General noob question here;

Will i lose anything if i do a straight reinstall of XP i.e my docs and photos and music etc. ?

I take it doing this will reset the reg and thus hopefully speed the system up(????), and ive read the other threads about uninstalling all those updates.

any advice would be appreciated

When you reinstall XP, you will lose all the updates you applied to it and some other user related program settings and data that are in certain folders such as shared docs and stuff. This link explains it all.
