  1. Apple is reportedly planning to launch a revamped range of iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano devices on Tuesday, July 14, according to French website iGen. The upgrades will mostly be cosmetic, although it's claimed the iPod Touch will receive a hardware boost, the first since 2012 when the fifth generation of the device arrived with a Retina display and a faster processor.

The report states the updated iPods will come in new color options that include gold, electric blue, fuchsia, classic black, pink and gray sidereal. The iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano will reportedly not receive any specification improvements.

The new iPod Touch is expected to ship with a 64-bit processor replacing its current 32-bit A5 component. The device’s five-megapixel camera is also likely to get an improvement along with its internal storage capacity, which is said to be increasing to 128GB.

With sales of Apple’s music players declining in recent years, the company will likely be hoping their revamped iPod line-up will reignite interest in the devices. It’s also thought the move will help attract new subscribers to Apple’s recently launched Apple Music streaming service.
